Susie Dent (you know her: the one from 8 Out of Ten Cats does Countdown, and the day time version too, or so I'm told) is surprisingly subversive on Twitter. Take this comment from her this morning:
Word of the day is ‘quockerwodger’ (19th century): a wooden puppet whose limbs jerk at the whim of the puppet master and, by extension, a politician whose strings of action are pulled by somebody else.

Who did she have in mind?
And I have to say this type of subversion appeals, greatly.

That is funny, accurate yet worrying at the same time.
Will be too subtle for some, though.

Possibly an outside bet but could it be Allegra Strachan and the daily broadcast briefings.
Allegra Strachan is a political appointment, reporting directly to No.10. She is not elected so does not have to answer to Parliament. She is a temporary civil servant and therefore not subject to the rules and discipline that full civil servants are. Anything she says in the ‘Press Briefings’ will be party political propaganda, not information, not explanations of policy, not official Government statements. They will not have to follow the rules for party political broadcasts.
The broadcasters will, in effect, be funding a promotion campaign for just one party. That is not good news for democracy. Strachan will be used strategically and tactically whilst at the same time providing a ‘cut out’ to prevent embarrassment for Bojo. His bumbling, good natured, buffoon act is seen as a liability (by Demonic Cummings?) as is his inability to grasp detail. Strachan is the fall guy for any ideas that go awry and Johnson can take over any that fly and collect the glory.
This is the mushroom principle of Government. Keep ‘em in the dark and shovel s**t over their heads.
I hadn’t thought of that…possible
