I have teenage sons. As is usual for such beings they have just remembered that Christmas involves giving as well as receiving presents. So they asked what I wanted. This is my Christmas list. I suspect not all are within their gift. The last few might be. But I'm not hopeful. A larger version is here.

Ha Ha – love the last 4 points at the bottom. My two are just the same. I’m sure their investing their pocket money in power utilities somewhere.
But wot! No biscuit barrel for the office!! Is this the beginning of a new year’s resolution about biscuit consumption I wonder?
No
This bear runs on buns…..
That’s quite a list. Thankfully my Dad just asked for a Leicester Tigers’ shirt. A lot easier to buy for.
I have tried time and time again to explain to my daughters that the same switch that turns the lights on can be used to turn them off. It’s not working.
Why is that?
I think it’s a wiring fault
And not in the switch
An inspiring wish list. Let’s all hope that you have as much success in achieving those goals as you did in predicting the next six months.
Lest I forget in the Christmas rush, I wish you and yours one of the things on your wish list; a day or two just being, together. A happy and peaceful Christmas to you all.
Thanks Nick
That is planned…..
I may actually take a day or two off
And I am looking forward to it
But it’s the theory of IFRS 8 this afternoon….
Have a good one too
Thanks to all here for the thoughts, education, rationality and entertainment. I hope you have a Happy Christmas and the new year brings us closer to the world we’d like to live in. Good luck with the trim-tabbing.
🙂
Thanks
And to you
I sent mine to the Colonies, it saved a lot of trouble and money.
But I know at least one came back…..
I’m still dreaming of a Green Christmas! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HFNXOzcLlI.
Thank you RM for the extensive socio-economic & political wisdom expressed here during 2016, with the resultant inter-active conversations. You have created a unique blog. A simple Christmas wish, therefore, is that it continues unabated throughout 2017.
Good health, peace and joy to all.
Thanks
Well amidst all the change, at least teenagers have not fundamentally changed! If you find a solution, let us know…
I’d also like to echo the others and thank you Richard for providing so much fine food for thought and a haven of relative sanity. The same goes for those great regular contributors who add new angles and material and re-assure me that Im not the only one out there who thinks this way
So a Happy Christmas one and all and look forward to widening the audience and the volume in 2017
And to you Robin
Good luck with the last four.
I’ll need it
2016 was the year I discovered your blog so it wasn’t a total disaster. It’s reassuring to know there are others out there who see things the way they are and can explain them in plain English. It’s also reassuring to know that even you haven’t discovered how to tame teenagers.
Merry Christmas and more for 2017 please.
The big questions in life are beyond me…..
Thanks for your kind comments
You are not alone
