Blogging may be light over the next few days. After a frantic period I am taking a few days off, during which time we will also be moving.
After a decade in Norfolk we are moving back to Ely, where we lived for a number of years before heading north. Socially and logistically (and certainly for my work) we see benefits from a move.
The new address will be listed in due course on the contact page (I think it appropriate to get there first) although the reality is that email and phone will always get me best and all those details will remain the same.
Thanks for reading this post.

Hope your move goes smoothly. Look forward to reading your blogs on your return.
I suspect there will be one or two during it…
But even I have to admit that moving does take a bit of effort and is a mild distraction
So you are moving back to the cathedral city with the world’s finest tea room: I hope the move goes well, and that long-lost treasures emerge from the boxes you never got ’round to unpacking from the last one.
Amused
Have a safe and stress free move, Richard. If there is such a thing as a stress free move.

Good luck Richard. “When I was a kid my parents moved a lot, but I always found them.” Bouboum! (Rodney Dangerfield). Seriously, I hope it is as stress-free as any move can be. I’ve done more than a few myself. Ely sounds like a very nice city in which to live. We look forward to normal service being resumed as soon as possible. Take care.
Thanks
Happy new home, so exciting to move house, though very wearying, don’t forget where the kettle is.
It’s always interesting to read something from one who regards Norfolk as “north”…
Thete’s nothing between Norfolk and the north pole
I think in East Anglian terms that definitely makes it north
Hope it all goes very smoothly. I have no doubt that the world will continue to offer a very strange perspective even from the fine surroundings of Ely. 😉
I must admit Ely does offer a great perspective on the world
Don’t forget to keep the kettle handy! Hope it all goes smoothly.
That, mugs, and the kit will be in my car
Long experience suggests the wisdom of doing so
Etheldreda rules OK.
Absolutely
And Hereward
Plus Oliver
Good luck with the move Richard. Your efforts are appreciated but you are allowed the odd break.
Only the odd one, mind!
Hope it all goes smoothly, but if I am correct that you were the originator of Murphy’s Law, the portents may not be good
(If things can go wrong, they will)
Of course
That’s life
I deal with it
You’re not too worried about climate change then?;)
Yes
My new house is 22m above sea level
And I have long advocated damming The Wash
Prof. M.,
Hope the move and set-up the new place goes well.
Thank you
Dear Richard,
Hope your move has gone smoothly.
Apparently, through knowledge received on facebook, Yesterday was Ernst & Young’s Corporate responsibility day (OK, 22 April). I enjoy the sentiment and thought you might.
I only remember seeing Ely once. An enormous tower of a cathedral above a flat plain with so much sky. I hope you enjoy

That’s ELY
More fun than EY
Maybe rather more responsible too
Hope all goes well. I imagine your lads will have needed to move school. That is a trying time & I hope it goes well.
All are feeling optimistic
Thanks!
