To Norway, a note of thanks

Posted on

As the FT notes this morning, Norway is set for the most rightwing administration in its postwar history with the centre-right Conservatives and populist Progress party forming a minority government after two smaller centrist parties ended coalition talks.

It is my hope that this new government will continue the enlightened approach to tax havens and to the harm they cause that its predecessor followed. Few governments around the world have done more to further the cause of tackling tax haven abuse than the outgoing administration in Norway. I, amongst many in this field, received indirect funding from them and NORAD, the Norwegian state aid and development agency, has  been incredibly instrumental in this work.

I hope it will continue although I would stress the hope is not personal: I have had no links for a while now.
