We’ll need more fences like that as the gap between the plebs and super-rich widens yet further. This collection of ghastly self-preeners with Lagarde as top bill is clearly the worst show in town. The article brings out well the surreal sense of disclocation between this world (the FIRE economy as Michael Hudson puts it) and the ‘real’ economy. The reference to Watford FC reminded me how this phenomenon is reflected in football which no longer has geographical meaning but only a corporate one.
