Jersey’s got £5 million to say the rest of the world is out of step with it

The Jersey Evening Post has reported this afternoon:

Jersey's finance industry is gearing up to combat its detractors this year with more time, money and effort to be devoted toward fighting unfair criticism.

The body responsible for promoting the Island's premier industry, Jersey Finance, has put the protection of Jersey's reputation at the top of the agenda for 2013 and beyond.

The body has been given an extra £5 million of taxpayers' money to be used for a variety of purposes and changing perceptions overseas of what the Island does is among the objectives.

That's a lot of cash to fight off a few activists.

And David Cameron.
