Yesterday I presumed it was ignorance that let Nick Clegg suggest Jersey was of great use to the UK economy.
This morning we now know that is not true. As the Mail reports, a Jersey based company is the LibDems biggest donor. Oh, how convenient. And how corrupt. He's been bought.

The Crown Dependencies are highly selective about law enforcement.
To the extent that only one identifiable law exists:-
“That which doesn’t enhance our squalid, avaricious culture (or lack of) we will disregard.”
In these lands of make-believe laws and regulations (local and international) are amended or ignored to suit the selfish gratification of a few corrupt and favoured people. Their local council type “governments” have no concept of decency or honour. Greed is King.
All Politicians are corrupt!!
Respectfully, I don’t think that such statements are true
Worse, they reflect a poverty of thinking
Maybe not all politicians are corrupt. But all mainstream political parties are willing to condemn certain things but also accept big donations and give important roles to those who have done those things but who they do not condemn: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/c6848cce-0732-11e2-b148-00144feabdc0.html#axzz27keRpwwu
I think that fits most definitions of hypocrisy, if not corruption.
This isn’t too different to you or me or any other person/ firm acting being supported financially by a firm or union or whatever and then sharing the same sort of views. That’s what’s happened here…Nick Clegg and his party have received financial backing and appear to support those that provided the backing.
I guess it is all down to ethics at the end of the day. Personally, money on offer or coercion would not change my views, I can proudly say I have left firms that have a different ethical view to me even when this has hurt me and my family financially. Perhaps politicians should do the same eg refuse to accept money from donors who do share the same views.
I don’t agree
My bias is consistent and clear
The LibDems claim to oppose tax havens and don’t due to their funding
That’s unethical
The Guernsey Press, who have been crowing over Clegg’s ‘endorsement’ refused to publish my comment highlighting this obvious connection between funding and political bias.
Yet all manner of drivel is allowed on there. V strange
