Tories believe in tax simplification – like heck!

Posted on

Tax simplification is a Tory mantra.

Which is why the Finance Bill, published today is at 670 pages (plus 16 extra pages of padding), longer than any Finance Act passed in the last 20 years according to the Chartered Institute of Tax

And I now have the job of reading it.

The explanatory notes are shorter though - just 508 pages.

So much for simplification.
