Did you hear the one about the failed Chancellors?
Ed Balls, Vince Cable and George Osborne all walked into a room, and all delivered Osborne's lines.
No, it's true.
What's that consensus we've always talked about?

But on this subject you agree with them!
But I may offer different reasons
I’ve just posted this on Facebook:
“I prefer Jeremy Corbyn’s argument for thoroughgoing reform of the EU from within.
This is all “hold onto the hand of nurse, For fear of something worse”, name calling and nothing positive.
And SURELY Ed Balls has learned how damaging it is to appear on the same platform as a Tory??
Should have added in at the end “after the disastrous experience of the ” Better Together” campaign for the IndyRef”
Can’t help but wonder if this is another New Labour ruse to undermine Corbyn who has wisely refused to share a platform with any Conservatives. Last week, it was David Miliband and Cameron.
On the other hand, Ed Balls may just be doing his mate Osborne a favour. I can’t forget how friendly and giggly they were together on the Andrew Marr Show pre-GE 2015. I understand (on the grape-vine) that all the shadow shadow cabinet feel more comfortable socially with George Osborne than with Jeremy Corbyn and John Mcdonnell.
Ed Balls is a sociopath who will do anything to stand in front of a camera-this the man who confused National Debt with structural deficits.
Every time these bastards speak my resolve to vote leave is increased incrementally.
(Sorry for the language, Richard-you may not want to post this but I’m sick to death of being condescended to by these intellectually vapid shysters).
This comes as no surprise to those of us who’ve always regarded Balls, and his wife Yvette Cooper, as properly belonging in the Tory party anyway. True colours!
I have just noticedyour face book posts in the last few days: saw Richard Murphy’s post on EU migrants being net contributors of revenue and liked that. i like this post about the 3 chancellors: wry laughter! Please keep it up as you are informing the philosophical hunches and intuitive responses that many of us act on. Thanks.
The only failed Chancellor is Osborne the other two have never been Chancellor
So they failed then….
They certainly all subscribe to the same failed (manifestly so, on the evidence) description of the nature and workings of the economy.
That’s the failure that counts, not whether they made it to No. 11.
Cable supped with the devil and Balls cares for nothing other than his ‘career’ I’d call that failure.
I’ve noticed this lie many times before – “they all compete with us for investment”
Actually they don’t. They don’t use Sterling anywhere else.
This is another one of those ‘free market’, ‘New Keynesian’ myths that will not die – that foreigners have something we don’t and can’t get access to.
It simply isn’t true.
We can invest in ourselves *whenever we have the political will to do so*.
Indeed BoB but you have to remember these people are rentier capitalists and don'[t want to help educate people about the REAL choices available to them.
And on the Gaurdian site you could comment neither on the news item itself nor today’s Steve Bell cartoon where the invitation to comment was ‘put up in error’ and withdrawn after 10 comments. As one of those lucky few said ‘What was it about the Scottish Independence referendum that these two didn’t get?’
I’ve noticed the BTL section disappearing more and more from the Grauniad-I wonder if that has anything to do with the number of comments critical of the Graun’s Tory lite philosophy?
