I just searched the Taxpayers' Alliance site for the term Starbucks. I was sure they had to have said something about the issue.
Nope. Nothing. Not a hit. Not a word. Zilch.
How is that? How come 'Britain's independent grassroots campaign for lower taxes' has nothing to say about Starbucks paying almost no tax? Surely they're not lost for words?
Come on chaps, let us know, what's the deal? They aren't sponsoring you, are they? After all, someone is.......

It does seem a curious omission – I checked the site for ‘Google’ and ‘Amazon’ and there were links to at least a dozen Blog Entries, similarly for ‘Linkedin’ and ‘Facebook’ – I can only presume they feel that Starbucks’ actions are perfectly legal under current EU law and thus not worthy of comment. Read into that what you will.
I see – so their entire website is devoted to exposing breaches of EU law plus calls for stronger enforcement by EU institutions and more EU legislation.
That isn’t what I said but don’t let that stop you – as I said, I have no idea why they aren’t commenting on the issue of ‘tax avoidance’ by Starbucks – there are comments on the other high profile multinationals, but Starbucks is a curious omission.
