The Times (behind paywall) noted last night:
That should be a fun event.
But it's not news to any of the participants. All that's news is that we now know about it.
And one curious thought. Why is the Isle of Man so quiet on all this?

Apparently this week’s (print) issue of the Isle of Man Examiner has an article on this. As announced on-line today (http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-news/expert-analysis-on-uk-s-potential-clampdown-on-tax-avoidance-1-5168554):
“THE UK is poised to target the Isle of Man in a clampdown on tax avoidance.
Today’s Isle of Man Examiner has expert analysis on what the move could mean for us.”
Richard,
There’s also a brief comment from Manx Radio with – unsurprisingly – rebuttal of your claims in the sound-bite!):

The French are already doing this for all trusts.
See: http://www.russell-cooke.co.uk/clientUpload/document/file/French%20Trust%20Reporting%20Obligations%20-%20Nov%202012.pdf
And, for the avoidance of any doubt, since there is no legal possibility to create a trust under French law, this obviously refers to non-French fiduciary structures.
