The Independent Chief Inspector of the UK Borders Agency has issued a damning report on its management.
Its Chief Executive from 2008 to 2010, when many of the problems must have arisen, was Lin Homer.
She’s now the new Chief Executive of H M Revenue & Customs.
It’s an appointment that can fill no one with hope.

It’s probably deliberate. The Coalition don’t want anyone efficient there else their mates (and them too, probably) would lose too much money. This really is government by the rich for the benefit of the rich and no-one else.
It’s Lin Homer, as in the blind Greek poet.
We’re doomed. Doomed! And retirement won’t come soon enough.
