Jersey ‚Äòwill have a level playing field over zero-ten’ ¬ª Business ¬ª This Is Jersey.
It’s reported that:
The president of the Jersey Society of Chartered Certified Accountants, Wendy Dorman, said she believed it was inconceivable that the Ecofin Code of Conduct group would allow a zero-ten structure in one island but not in the other Crown dependencies.
Let’s get this straight: Jersey’s zero ten has never been considered by Europe (Ecofin). Nor will it ever be becasue the UK won’t put it forward because it’s agreed it’s not compliant.
The Isle of Man has been considered and knocked back once.
It’s not guaranteed it will survive another scrutiny.
So zero ten is dead. Buried. Gone.
But Jersey does not like realities.
Then, since offshore is a world of make believe that things happen where they clearly do not that’s not surprising.

There will be an announcement on this within a week and possibly a joint one.
Two things Richard. As John Buckles implies, we will be starting a consultation shortly as will Guernsey (IOM beat us by nearly three months).
Secondly, I think that the EU Code of Conduct Group will have a real problem taking on zero-ten unless they can beat us down politically – simply because applying both the Code and the precedents of the wildly competitive regimes that the group has already accepted in Europe you will see that they haven’t a leg to stand on in international tax terms.

Haven’t you noticed the world has changed
Politics demands the change – because abuse that was once unacceptable is now wholly unacceptable
You might notice that the whole of Europe faces cuts. Cuts that will harm ordinary people. And no politician is going to tolerate your abuse in the face of that
So give up now. It’s game over
