From the Guardian today (and following on from the Billy Bragg article I commented on this morning):
In everything I have ever written or done I have criticised the domination of capital and argued for the democratic renewal of the Labour movement to resist its power. That is all I stand for really. Resistance to commodification through democratic organisation. That's the position. Labour as a radical tradition that pursues the common good. That is Blue Labour, and the rest is commentary.
If only more people could say that.
Good for Maurice Glasman, I say.

what’s blue labor?
Hello Richard
I’m a regular lurker first time poster — I love this blog thanks so much for putting all the work in π
To be fair to Billy Bragg he may have been listening to the piece by the radio 4 analysis programme on this — it did make “blue labour” should pretty much as he described very “red tory” with a bit of UKIP thrown in.
I think there are some “blue labour” supporters that actually have very different ideas from Glasman (or have misunderstood him) so the confusion is understandable.
In response to the posting by Kris –
Don’t know how anyone who heard our programme (Analysis on Radio 4) about Blue Labour could have been left with the impression that Glasman and co are advancing an agenda of economic liberalism. A less relaxed attitude to immigration, doing more to protect jobs in manufacturing – these are aspects of Blue Labour looked at in the programme. Not sure how Billy Bragg can call them economically liberal.
For those who missed he programme, presented by David Goodhart, it’s still downloadable here: http://bbc.in/excmp9
@ Radio 4 Analysis – sorry I’m afraid that was the impression it left with me(!) it may not have been your intention and others can listen & disagree — as I said but perhaps did not make clear I think some of the “blue labour” advocates that contributed to the programme conveyed a different message to Glasman. I did not intend to say the the programme itself took a view either way or at all.
It wasn’t a critism of the programme merely that was the impression it left ME with π bless you for responding though!
