It was a day for a walk:
It was worth keeping to the cool shade. It was hot out there:
There were red admirals to admire:
And damsel flies (I think this is one of them, rather than a dragonfly):
And I have permission to post this that reflects the warmth of the day:

Chilly and overcast where I am today.

Fish are jumping!
Phew
And the cotton is high ……
For future reference:
It’s a male Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens), a damselfly. Damselflies rest with their wings along their body, dragonflies rest with their wings at right angles to their body. Dragonflies are bigger and have chunkier bodies. In flight, despite their larger size, dragonflies are faster and more agile than damselflies.
Thanks
I have lot to learn
The nature pictures are beautiful!!!!
More pictures of farm life and wildlife please!
Tomorrow…..maybe
Family been staying near here with the grandkids for 2 weeks – 2 grandkids 1st week,, 4 second week! Lovely to see them all, but we’re both knackered since they went home yesterday.
Anyway, that’s a bit off topic! I’ve seen a dragonfly around our caravan a few times since we arrived here. Last week DD2 spotted a dragonfly catching and eating a butterfly in flight! Gruesome sight I think, but how wonderful to see Nature in action, red tooth and claw!
