One has to experiment. This is an experiment. I'm aware the quality could be improved - and my tatty gardening shirt isn't, perhaps, the right image. But is this a way to share ideas?
Feedback welcome.

Richard,
Sorry for not being a a thecno like you, but can this system be used for a two or more way debate?
Chris
I don’t think so
But I’ll ask
What have you in mind?
Richard
There are ways around that Richard asnd it is something I referenced on my blog where I posted the vid from YouTube.
Hmmm
Text is more useful for analysis. It allows one to follow the thread of an argument, and thus evaluate better.
seems like a good idea to me – and one can always replay it just as one can reread what you’ve written.
it’s also good to put a face to a name!
Look into the camera, not your monitor. π
Dennis is right, embed the vid in your site itself.
With any success, you may get sifted up on http://www.videosift.com
OK – I’ve learnt how to embed now. It’s easy when you know how – darned confusing until you do!
As for looking at the camera – that is suprisingly hard – because I do TV work where the exact opposite is usually the case
Thanks for the comments
Nick
I think that face to the name things is really important
I’m under no illusions about my face – but it’s always easier to relate to someone when you can picture them
There may be another one of these later today
Time permitting

Good effort to set this up. My own views below are on minor presentational aspects. I am not an expert here and these are not (and are not intended to be) personal criticisms, but just my own impressions which might (or might not) be helpful. I appreciate you are doing this from home and will be limited in facilities.
1. Looked to me a little like the Chancellor’s talk to the Nation after the Budget – ie someone official imposing on the viewer, not helped by the desk or the direct aspect of you to camera.
2. An offset and open aspect of the presenter is more inclusive, although a fireside chat might appear be too informal/insincere and lose impact. Don’t really know here.
3. If the purpose of these talks will be presentation of information, standing (and moving) rather than sitting will be more interesting and engaging if there is enough space for the camera to catch it. Visual aids will retain interest. Ideally try to copy Peter Snow/Magnus Pyke!
4. Background is detailed and distracting – I found myself trying to see what was on your shelves. A plain background would be better if possible
5. Whilst I would not necessarily expect you to be suited and booted, I think you should be at least smart casual – your credibility may otherwise suffer. Likewise colours are quite important. Blue or white probably fine, pink as you seemed to be wearing probably not (for reasons I am too PC to explain here).
All of these are minor points and I look forward to seeing your substantial videos.
While I concede most of the points Richard is making, substance must dominate form.
You’re not a stereotypical CA so don’t present that image. Be as passionate in person as you are in print and all will be fine, whatever you’re wearing. Those who are interested in your opinons might find your dress unusual but, in my experience, won’t be unduly influenced by it, even if it’s pink!
Roger
I like pink! My wife says you don’t need to worry about the PC bit
And I love moving around – but that’s beyond the capability of self recording
But I’ll look for a better background in due course
And avoid the T shirt
But all welcome (as were Nick’s comments)
Incidentally – my son’s favourtite colour is pink – and do you know that’;s the colour Victorians dressed their boys in? Blue was for girls
Richard
Oh Goody, can you explain to me, in simple terms, what private equity is and why the bosses should be taxes at a higher rate?
Loved the shirt!
For the sake of the innocent, I should explain that Mr Hopkins and I are acquainted, with beer usually lubrciating the exchange.
He runs a great pub called the Fraggle Rock on Bryher in the Isles of Scilly http://www.bryher-ios.co.uk/
This has for some time been the closest I’ve got to being an offshore accountant.
And dammit, I’ll do a broadcast just for you if you really want Chris
Thans fot the plug and yes I would like to know more about it. could be a nice winter job!! πΏ
Still waiting for episode 2 π―
