There are things that could be written about today, but I needed a day off, and so I was back at my familiar haunt at the Kingfisher Bridge nature reserve this morning.
Autumn is on its way. Rose hips are developing:
The elderberries are looking good:
The blackberries are ripening, and there will be crumble tonight:
But a comma butterfly was still about in all its glory:
I am a big fan of autumn. I always miss summer, but every season brings its pleasures, and autumn more than most.

Mists and mellow fruitfulness…….
Had our first blackberry crumble last night old chap – bumper harvest here in Derbyshire.
However, it all seems too soon – I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve been waiting for Summer to come.
Did it turn it turn up?
There were days
The crumble was great. Fresh blackberries are so much better than any others.
With proper custard? Not really a crumble without proper custard. I hope you enjoyed your day.

I didn’t think I suffered from imposter syndrome, but perhaps I do, I didn’t send the reply I was minded to yesterday because, as much more of a consumer of than contributor to this site, I thought “Who am I to presume to write a reassuring reply to Richard’s post?
Well, I’ve reconsidered and I reckon that the more people who tell you this the better, as far as I’m concerned Richard, you’re no imposter, you’re an authentic authority.
I hope you enjoyed your “day off” (I notice it didn’t prevent you from doing an interview on LBC and submitting a couple more posts.) You’re entitled to take all the days off that you need; if that delays your series on collecting more tax from the wealthiest, so be it – I’m sure it will be worth waiting for.
