Autumn is coming

There are things that could be written about today, but I needed a day off, and so I was back at my familiar haunt at the Kingfisher Bridge nature reserve this morning.

Autumn is on its way. Rose hips are developing:

The elderberries are looking good:

The blackberries are ripening, and there will be crumble tonight:

But a comma butterfly was still about in all its glory:

I am a big fan of autumn. I always miss summer, but every season brings its pleasures, and autumn more than most.
