This is invaluable data from Frank van Lerven and the team at the New Economics Foundation:
Boris Johnson declares that mission is "largely accomplished".
Our @NEF research shows that since BoJo came to office the UK has "LEVELLED DOWN".
Since 2019, the incomes of the poorest 50% of families squeezed by £110 while the top 5% of families got richer by £3,300 a year. pic.twitter.com/NtEbly1jrz

But of course. The man is an shameless liar. It beggars belief this charlatan kept the Conservative Party and the nation in his thrall for almost three years. Longer than Chamberlain, Brown, Eden.
I think Johnson was, for once, being entirely honest… just not about the nature of the mission.
The poor get poorer whilst the rich get richer.
Mission (largely) accomplished.
Hasta la Vista, massive blond baby.
Do you know what the most disgusting thing it was that I saw in parliament yesterday?
Watching that (please forgive me) whipped cur of a Speaker – Mr Lyndsay Hoyle – playing along with the Tories saying ‘good bye’ to Boris. Hoyle – that cap doffing, genuflecting Northern cartoon of a parliamentarian.
He didn’t even have the gumption to quiet down the Tory benches when Labour MP Kim Leadbetter had the temerity to remind Boris of the damage he had done to parliament – he allowed her to be drowned out – which allowed the piranha that is Boris to make a joke out of it of course.
And he even made an affectionate speech about Boris too. Anyone looking at that yesterday would think it was just theatre – here is a corrupt prime minister getting his comeuppance but instead its all just painted over and he’s allowed to go out in style and not shame. Talk about cognitive dissonance. Talk about being out of touch.
Un-believable. UN-BELIEVABLE!
I was going to say that I could not believe the standing ovation Boris received in the HoC, but of course it was entirerly believable. A disgrace on multiple levels.
Ignoring all the lies, the incompetence and the handing over of vast amounts of money to friends my biggest question is why do a significant portion of those that have done worst under Boris (and by association Brexit) still support him?
I couldn’t believe that the speaker praised Johnson for what he had done with the pandemic. And the rest of the time Johnson was allowed to get away with saying the pandemic was over. Whoever replaces him will be the same, though. They will say the pandemic is over.
