The message is about Germany. But it’s the result of the election of a more right wing coalition.
If it does (and I suspect it will) I hope it’s a lesson the people of the UK note.
Because that’s the one promise the Tories can deliver on here.

To be intellectually honest, you cannot compare Anglo-Saxon libertarian capitalism with European social capitalism. Angela and Nicolas are left of Gordon on their social policies. So if unemployment does go up (which it might well), my guess is that it has nothing to do with the fact that the “Right” has won in Germany.
The election result in Germany proves, once again, the electoral bankruptcy of the Blairite centre-left approach in the current political environment. The harder left parties – Die Linke, the Greens – did well. The hard right libertarians – the Free Democrats – did well. The SPD were annihilated.
Merkel picked up the “safe pair of hands” vote.
What happens next depends on how far right Merkel decides to tack. A package of Irish-style public spending and job cuts could push Germany into economic disaster. But is she really stupid enough to want to do that? My guess is that she’ll carry on on a fairly centrist line.
Hum
Fair comment, BUT there are widespread reports that sackings have beend delayed to help the Right

I suspect you’re right
