I recorded this for use in the USA, so I thought I would share it here as I gather it is going out unaltered there (and I know the background photo needs attention):

Interesting and good analysis overall.
I would take issue, however, with your openning remark that people are disenchanted with politics “entirely because of Brexit”. I think the rot set in long before that.
And regarding the logic of Trump, if we assume that he acts only to promote his own interests, and that he knows he has a limited time to do so, then it could be argued that he acts rationally. Kind of like a child finding himself in charge of a sweet shop; might as well scoff as many down while he can.
Points taken
This was an off the cuff one off take
Fair enough. I thought in general it was good.
Actually the whole “tax-cut” thing has gone off the Republican’s radar in the mid-terms campaign.
They are not talking about it – partly because the Democrats have already cut through with the message that most of the benefit went to rich folks but even more so because, with the US tax code, people can normally deduct the cost of state taxes from their federal tax obligation – but Trump’s reforms restricted their ability to do that.
So in some of the higher-taxing states a lot of people are effectively paying more tax overall. As a result of that some of the Republican candidates in those states are going to lose a bit of support in the mid-terms.
P.S. For some odd reason I had to to renew my name and details here. I haven’t had to do that before.
I confess I have no idea why
Sorry
And I can see you are still linked to the usual log in. That was your 1,470th comment
I seem to have a problem getting a comment on to this site (name, details etc.)
Not to me it seems not…..
Why would you believe that anyone is interested in your opinion on US politics. The fact you made a recording shows incredible self opinionated arrogance…it really is remarkable
I was asked to record this for use on US radio
I guess they are interested
So your hypothesis is wrong
