The comedian Mark Thomas is another man I enjoy working with.
Today he’s angry. He’s threatening to launch a judicial review of the Speaker’s actions on MP’s expenses.
I’m seeing Mark on Tuesday. He can count me in.

Perhaps best not to let Mark Thomas know that you are friendly with Michael Meacher, as I recall from The Mark Thomas Comedy Product Channel 4 programme that they are not exactly a mutual appreciation society, see here:

Weren’t you aware of my skills as a diplomat and arbitrator?
I’m sure I could get round them round the same table!
Richard
Had never heard of him. Seems like another bitter, twisted leftie “comedian” so convinced of his moral virtue that he lacks any constraint.
And judging by this, quite an unpleasant person.

Those on the left don’t half hold grudges, do they? I can’t imagine anyone on the Right doing something similar when Tony Benn passes. And Left-wing ideology is supposed to be “kind” and “caring”.
Thomas is the kind of person I always suspected you would associate with, Richard.
Peter, no one has ever suggested a state funeral for Tony Benn. I’ve never heard anyone from any political stance utter a word against him. But as a WWII fighter pilot, I think Tony Benn has more entitlement to such a funeral than Thatcher. Given the kind of impassioned actions which would undoubtedly take place, and which I am sure the queen has been advised of, I’m quite sure that no such funeral will be approved.
However I’ll be there at the unofficial party. It’s only right and proper.
