In Europe again? Your wife must be very understanding (or wondering who the strange person in the house is at the weekend 🙂 ). Your dedication to the cause with all this travelling is to be applauded.
In the last few months I’ve had a couple of weeks where I have not left the UK
My holiday this summer is in….Wales
Returned last Friday from a marvellous week in Wales. Hope the weather is good for you – we saw the whole sweep of Cardigan Bay, from St David’s Head to Bardsey Island, from a cliff-top vantage point between Aberdyfi and Barmouth, one day. Also saw the Dyfi ospreys – though the walk to their observatory almost took me out – hobbling on a crutch means that I take quite a time, and the day was one of the hottest this year. Couldn’t climb Cadair – although the entrance to the Minfford Path was only half a mile from our rented cottage.
If you’re anywhere in the vicinity, do visit Tal-y-llyn. Also the Corris Craft Centre.
Did this a couple of years and had a great time
Steam trains, walking, bird watching, zip wires, beautiful scenery. Works for me
Nothing against Wales, but you should treat the wife and kids to something long haul, relaxing but also exciting, relaxing or educational (even on the political side!). The Far East is good for that, try touring Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar. 2 weeks out of the year no-one will be begrudge you and it’s enlightening.
I can think of nothing worse!

Richard, have you thought of Caracas for a holiday? I hear the Metro is pretty good although admittedly no steam trains run on it.
My criteria for a holiday is no planes, no passports: I have enough of them all year
And as everyone else is happy, so am I

Out of interest, who funds these regular trips you are now making, and is there a concern that this vital funding will dry up if the final solution to BREXIT is a hard exit ?
Indirectly I am now very largely EU funded
And yes that means the money runs out
It is possible I may be moving as a result…..
We’ll see but I have an Irish passport and so can still continue to work in the 27

So what about this for a scenario. – The wheels fall off Brexit negotiations, and UK is left with no deal. The pound falls and the majority decide we would be better off if Brexit had never been thought of. So T May or J Corbyn will end up begging the EU to let us stay.
Europe says, yes you can, but only if you sort out your tax havens, which have done us so much harm. I’m sure Jeremy Corbyn would love the idea, but Theresa may be upset.
Just a thought!!!! It might actually do the world a bit of good.
