And then I'll mention that I was on BBC Radio Jersey this morning - the second time in a couple of weeks.
And for the second time in a couple of weeks the minister who was meant to respond to me failed to show up.
Are they frightened? Or are they cowards?

Richard, why should a member of the Jersey Government be interested in speaking to the Tax Justice Network? I mean your accusations are not accurate as proven on TV lately, you believe avoidance and evasion are the same thing and despite John Christensen have two family members working in Jersey finance, your agenda has come across as personal on many occasions. So just ask yourself why? You are not an enforcement agency of any kind anyway. I would be surprised if anybody in finance is interested in attending this. Its anti- Jersey and its as simple as that.
And yet, Radio Jersey were keen to interview Richard.
Also, I think RM understands the difference between evasion and avoidance as well as you do. I have read many articles by RM and your accusation that he doesn’t understand the difference is quite bogus. You and he differ in that he considers both to be morally repugnant, whilst you consider it to be OK, still.
Maybe “it is anti-Jersey”. What’s wrong with that? Quite a lot of people seem to be anti-Jersey at the moment, the President of the USA, The Pope, Willem Buiter in the FT. Even Gordon Brown seems to making hostile noises to the tax havens.
Yes, but we are not a tax haven!
Besides from the new reels I read especially on TV lately it sounds like Jersey is setting an example of good regulation.
I have reviewed every list of tax havens for 30 years.
Jersey is on every one.
So what are you saying? Everyone else is wrong?
Or could it be you’re just deluding yourself?
I know which answer the rest of the world will choose.
And right now it’s their opinion that matters. Jersey’s does not

Richard, Jersey is a massive piece of the jigsaw in the UK finance system. Now even you know that. So remove it, then what will happen?
What will happen? Well, major UK banks could become insolvent and go running to he UK government for a bail out or sell themselves to the Arabs…. Sorry, that’s already happenned!
This UK finance system, that’ll be the one that’s brought the country to its knees and, in conjunction with Wall Street, brought the world economy to its knees. So, we want to save it, why?
The UK finance system is broken in a big way and, if you like, Jersey is a massive piece of the jigsaw.
Jersey not a tax haven!! Have the depositors been told and won’t they be a bit disappointed when they find out.
Well whatever you make out, it is pretty obvious that you don’t understand how it all works.
