In the context of this morning's video and a post yesterday, this jumped out at me from an overnight newsletter from the New York Times:
Sometimes details do not need to be spelt out, but are there for all to read into what is said.
This is one such occasion.
Thanks for reading this post.

At least the Generals made it very clear what they thought of Trump at their recent meeting as they did in his first presidency
Trump is doing to domestic America what the CIA helped many a South American dictator to do – create a feeling of calamity that justifies the loss of freedoms.
In the U.S. and the U.K, probably Europe too, imperialism is coming home!
Interesting you should post that from the New York Times. You should watch the latest segment from Lawrence O’Donnell.
As you may have picked up from previous segment from him, he frequently lambasts the White House Press Corps for the hypocrisy they have show daily in the way they treat Trump and his press spokespersons, and the way they used to scream and shout at Biden and his press people.
In this latest he singles out the NYT for their approach to reporting on Trump. I shan’t try to summarise what he says – anyone who watches Trump and thinks that writing about what he says in a ‘normal’ way, is acceptable, need to seriously pay attention to what O’Donnell has to say. For as he makes clear – and not for the first time, as it wasn’t much different for Trump 1 – there’s nothing ‘normal’ or ‘acceptable’ about what Trump does and says, and to write about it as if simply normalises behaviour that everyone should find totally and utterly unacceptable (unhinged being the most appropriate label).
Anyway, when you and other’s who follow this blog have 14 minutes spare watch this:

And when you’ve finished with that, this from Chris Hayes, on the latest exploits of ICE in Chicago. Truly a militia in action – and nobody to stop them. https://www.msnbc.com/all
14 minutes this evening
He sends in the National Guard because he says there is a problem. People protest and he says: “See, I told you there was a problem.”
Precisely
I think I must have hit the back button before your blog processed what I posted, so here it is again. The usual must watch segment from Lawrence O’Donnell, which starts by specifically calling out the NYT in not using language that actually describes the reality of what Trump says and does. They’re not alone in this, of course: the White House Press Corps are even worse. But the hypocrisy in how they treat Trump and his cronies to how they treated Biden is stark. There’s far more than that, of course. No wonder O’Donnell’s anger is palpable.

Also worth watching is this segment from Chris Hayes on the latest ICE activity in Chicago. Truly a militia out of control.https://www.msnbc.com/all
