I noticed an odd statistic relating to this blog this morning.
As this chart shows, during the course of yesterday this blog recorded its best ever year in its history:
The odd thing, of course, is that this happened on 16 September. At this rate we might approach (but not reach) 10 million views this year.
Maybe that answers my own question from earlier this morning about whether I am publishing too much content. It seems not.

Good to hear, Richard. And not surprising.
But I did want to put something to you. What’s your view of the State Visit by Trump? Personally, I find it utterly shameful. I wonder, for example, what the reaction of the government and royals will be when the Epstein files finally appear and confirm what we all know – that the only reason they haven’t seen the light of day is the extent to which Trump features in them. After all, Mandelson had to pay a price. But only a week later, Trump’s wined and dined.
Our government and the royals will claim, as defence, that Trump is innocent until proven otherwise. But I heard yesterday from a very reliable source, that not only did the security services know the extent of Mandelson’s involvement (but it was ignored), but they were briefed long ago about Trump too. I’ve no reason to doubt that.
Then we have Trump’s attack on US democracy. Doesn’t that matter to Starmer and this government? Is it really an internal US affair? Seriously? And those attacks get worse by the day. Everyone’s heard about Trump’s lawsuit against the New York Times. But as he left the US yesterday, he was asked whether it was appropriate for a sitting President to carry on commercial activities (and NYT story). His response was to say that he wasn’t. It was his family.
But he then asked the journalist where he was from. They replied an Australian news organistion. To which Trump said that he was meeting the Australian Premier soon and that he might bring up the ‘nasty question’ he’d been asked and maybe that would impact on the discussion. In short, a clear threat. That was the second in a short space of time, as he’d previously threatened to launch an investigation into another US journalist who’d asked a ‘nasty’ question.
Anyway, to get a flavour of the nature of why this visit is so shameful, and Starmer’s “special relationship” so demeaning to this country, I’d strongly recommend watching the following segments from reporting on MSNBC yesterday.

Ivan, see my video yesterday. I agree with you. He should not be here.
I genuinely worry that the inevitable public hostility will worsen relations. However. “the largest crowds ever seen” within the the walls of Windsor Castle may save the day, particularly since they are nearly all heavily armed
The amount of trade deals coming out of this explain clearly why he is here and who runs this country. American big tech is being given free reign to extract from our economy.
We are not asking the correct questions or seeing the true contours of “the issue”: Trump, Epstein, the rich and the product.
Many/most/all of the children/girls involved in the saga came from poor/poorish/middle-class backgrounds. They were/are product to be used & discarded, by the rich. I have a very high level of confidence that this process continues – driven by wealth. As for it being shameful (ref Starmer – Trump) – that goes without saying, but I am confident that Starmer is little different from Mandelsohn – impressed by wealth/power & defers to it & likes to cuddle up to it. A while back we watched the series “Westworld” which was deeply unpleasant – the treatment (and how humans saw them) of the quasi-sentient robots is/was analogous to how the rich regard us or our offspring: as product. Lawsuits &the like? make sure the peasants keep their heads down.
I also thought you might be publishing too much and the content too broad. Glad to see I was wrong
It could be even higher of course!
