Excellent – right target, right tone.
His open facism terrifies me. We are already seeing what is happening in America, although much is not getting through to the MSM. I am tired of their blatant racism, whilst I meet absolutely lovely Asians and Africans coming over to work in our NHS and care sectors. I’d like more of them and less of people who believe the lies spouted by Farage and his friends.
Slight aside but was the UK not a founder member of the ECHR and doesn’t it predate the EU?
He is saying he supports the blatantly racist approach of ICE in the USA
This is Trump for the UK
God help us. And I mean that quite literally. All this fuss about educating 16 year olds to enable them to vote. It’s the older generation I’m far more concerned about.
The vast majority of replies on twitter disagree with you citing many other countries cope fine outside ECHR and we coped fine before 1998.
This just shows how ignorant you and they are.
The countries in Europe outside the ECHR right now are Belarus, Russia, and Vatican City.
You think they’re all doing just fine right now, do you?
Tell me how, might you?
i didn’t say counties in europe outside the ECHR, i said countries.
That just shows how stupid you are then. The ECHR only applies to Europe.
Jack Straw is endorsing the split from ECHR. He says ““There is no doubt at all that the convention — and crucially its interpretation — is now being used in ways which were never, ever intended when the instrument was drafted in the late 40s and early 50s.”
So it’s not a far right phenomena, although you would like to dress it up as if it were.
Very politely, Jack Straw is a far right phenomenon being used as a convenient tool by the likes of Starmer, who is from the far right these days.
“Very politely, Jack Straw is a far right phenomenon being used as a convenient tool by the likes of Starmer, who is from the far right these days.”
I think this probably shows how far left you are to the mood of the nation.
About where middle Labour was in the 70s
That shows how far to the right the country has moved
Very impolitley – is that the same Jack Straw that declined to send the criminal Pinochet to Spain to be tried for murder?
Jack “I love fascists” Straw – one of the people that turned the Labour party of the ’70s and ’80s into the genocide-supporting right-whinge org that it is now.
(& as I recall, a deeply unpleasant Home Sec that introduced a barrel full of “terrorist legislation” just as the IRA threat had evaporated).
Jack Straw – like so many in New-LINO – a stain on humanity and deeply right-whinge.
Well said
Jack Straw has been winding me up since I was a student and he was President of the NUS – he is a curse on the left.
🙂
This is about interim measures and shows they are issued in about 2% of cases.
A useful explainer. I think it might be useful

For your research on the ever-flexible Jack Straw, his political journey from far left to far right, through a whole host of apologies, denials, wars, illegal invasions, protection of wanted dictators, extraordinary renditions, U turns, cynical manipulations and deceptions. He figures prominently in so many of our nations most shameful moments.

Politically, he’s a contortionist. I think that’s the kindest thing I can say about him.
Very few people want to throw their lot in with Russia, Belarus or Vatican City. Also, not many people can tell you what the ECHR is, or what it does. So, the idea that rational people will flock to leave it is, of course, yet more arrant nonsense. from the loony right. Jack Straw’s endorsement will convince many of us that ECHR is beneficial.
There is a video coming in the morning
You seem to have zero support on twitter, and I mean zero..surely twitter is a better reflection of public opinion than this site?
My last post on Farage has got 7,900 likes, so far.
There are 972 comments.
If they are all negative that still means I have massively more support than opposition.
What is it about working out support that you find so hard?
