John Lennon got there before I did:
He was right.
Around the world, that is what people will be thinking.

Money & ideology (coupled to hate) drive war & genocide.
Two of the worlds economically largest countries are governed by a dictator and a wanna-be dictator. Another has a vast stockpile of nuclear weapons and is engaged in a war to destroy a neighbour. A fourth is an artifical creation in the middle east that acts like 19th cent Serbia – a quasi-pemanent catalyst for confilct. Give peace a chance? a worthy sentiment but in this context the imbeciles running the assorted countries would ask “what piece are you talking about – & what do you mean by giving it a chance”.
The problem is that most people, most of the time can get on together – but governments – don’t given them agency to either change or stop things.
Proof? Christmas Day 1914. Western Front. The Germans and Brits had far more in common than separation by nationality – which is why further truces (& footy) were banned. Just think if they had all said, “fuck it, I’m not fighting Jerry, he’s like me”, no WW1, and if accepted as a general principle – no more war.
It took me a long time to appreciate Lennon – well said. A true visionary and brave with it.
I seriously disagree with that.
Israel needs to be made to see that there are powers that will not put up with its regional bullying. That cannot be done peacefully.
When Gaddafi agreed to stop his nuclear programme he was invaded, Libya was destroyed and he was murdered in the most painful way possible.
To be free from the Empire you need to be strong.
Only one way to really give peace, and human survival, a chance. Sorry, it’s an -ism. It’s world federalism, with all it’s advantages, disadvantages, implications, mitigations and sometimes grim practicalities:

Why?
I think it increases stress in some cases, like the UK.
Because otherwise we can’t keep dodging the nuclear bullet indefinitely. The “strange attractor” in the chaotic solution space is then: oblivion.
All it would take is for everyone: military, police, those that work for arms manufacturers etc. Everyone. To say no. Without our consent, without our permission they stand alone. Yes I admit it. I’m an old hippie. Well a weekend one anyway
Is this why the government want to proscribe Palestinian Action?
No chance of peace if they do this.
