According to the New York Times:
So, Trump is at war with Harvard by mistake.
Who will he be at war with next, also by mistake?
To use a word he uttered in public, "Oopsy, I just nuked xxxxx" (insert xxxx to suit your own preferences as to who might suffer this misfortune).
Very truly, there is an idiot in the White House, and he is wildly out of control.
People are, and will in ever greater numbers, suffer as a result.

Isn’t this just a way of Trump saving face – backing down from a confrontation he was going to lose – just as he is in the process of doing over tariffs ?
It’s what I thought when I first heard but while I new Trump was a mistake the depths of the incompetence have astounded me even if it might notionally be based on some crackpot theory. Even the march towards autocracy seems inept. So I can easily entertain a mistake. It is however worth reminding ourselves how the Nazis rose to power. It was very much by luck as much as judgment combined with the inattention of others.
They will suffer.
If only he was an idiot, we could maybe manage that, Trump shows all the traits of either a sociopath (made) or a psychopath (born).
Absolutely Demos. An extremely evil and dangerous person, not only to his fellow citizens, but to the world.

The body to blame is the Democrat Party as a whole, and Genocide Joe and Carnage Kamala Harris in particular
It was clear that Biden was failing mentally, and he should preferably have handed over to Harris after the 2022 Mid-terms to let her become POTUS – beating a sitting President is always harder, though not impossible (See Carter and Bush Snr)
Failing that, Biden should have withdrawn from the race earlier, giving the Democrats time to find a stronger candidate than Harris. She was parachuted in faute de mieux (actually with NO attempt made to find a stronger candidate).
Or even steeped down then, and let Harris become President (though I’d prefer to see a genuine win by a properly selected candidate become the first female POTUS).
The Tory Party of old would never have let this happen – after all, they levered out Thatcher, once they saw she’d become a liability.
And she, toxic though she was in policy and effect, did have real ability and gravitas, which can hardly be said of Harris, or maybe even of Biden, both of whom the Tories would have dumped, where the Democrats were motivated by sentimental “no change”.
The final error of both Biden, and then Harris, was not to have taken action over Netanyahu’s sociopathic, genocidal activities.
Harris had the chance to distance herself from Genocide Joe’s horrendous support for Netanyahu’s murderous policy, and would probably have won, had she done so.
But, of course, she’s as fanatical a Zionist as is Biden, so no chance, which only emphasises the failure of the Democrats to find a really strong candidate to run against Trump.
And this is all because this time it really WAS necessary to prevent Trump from becoming President again, as it was clear he wasn’t bluffing, but had openly declared incipiently dictatorial intentions, all backed up and laid out in black and white in the widely criticised Project 2025 – the Republican Party’s agenda for the trashing of societal and governmental norms, and their replacement with a Neo-Fascist autocracy.
The American public didn’t take it seriously (unlike Robert Reich,
who DID take it seriously), thinking it would never happen. The world made the same mistake over “Mein Kampf”, when the authors of both documents were in deadly earnest.
The Democrat Party failed America, and the world, by not taking Trump and Project 2025 seriously, and so not taking the necessary avoidance action to ensure Trump didn’t win.
