Why isn’t Starmer condemning Trump’s genocidal statements on Gaza?

Posted on

Trump put this statement out in the last day:

There are no appropriate words to describe the thuggishness of this.

The hate-filled venom inherent in this statement is unforgivable.

This is the promotion of genocide by a man who is simultaneously refusing the right of defence to the people of Ukraine.

This is the reality of Trump. Let's not play around, or try to be clever, or excuse what he is doing. There is nothing that can be done to pardon his actions.

But we can still ask questions. In particular we can ask:

  • Why does Starmer call this man our friend and ally?
  • Why does Starmer want to associate us with Trump's support for genocide?
  • How can Starmer have made no statement on this?
  • Why is the mainstream media not talking about this?

I think Starmer's position is completely untenable. What is more, as a rational lawyer he must know that. So, what is he doing in our name? Whatever it is, there is no excuse for it.
