This one definitely needs a language warning:

Superb, as usual, and just about spot on about Farage. When we get to the next set of elections all other political parties should use the section on Farage in party political broadcasts (with royalties to Jonathan, obviously), but with all the swearing bleeped out. The impact would still be the same. The man’s a scumbag, turd, snake oil salesman of the first order and an utter disgrace to British politics.
We agree…
Actually, I find the language quite accurate and eloquent – nothing to disagree with at all.
Thanks for posting.
Well, I couldn’t have put THAT better myself.
moi non plus!
Much to agree with. But Farage et al are only part of the problem.
The very rich men that control the media, e.g. Rothermere (& Murdoch) are enablers of fascists such as Farage. In fairness, the trash “newspapers” that he publishes give Farage & his ilk a leg up (whilst also pushing utter nonsense to keep UK serfs diverted and entertained). Rothermere (& Murdoch) does not even live in the UK, he has a … French passport (& a French wife). The other owners are no different & the Guardian is owned by private equity. We are where we are, partly because of this situation.
The Guardian is owned by private equity?
I am not convinced….
Correct: The Guardian is owned by the Scott Trust, although their inability to support the Guardian and Observer a decade ago led to their current “subscription model” without paywall.
No private equity… (Some investment vehicles were sold to PE in their financial troubles; not the news titles)
The sale of The Observer to Tortoise Media (controlled by some ‘elite’ though more progressive (?) people) is another matter…
That all fits for me
I have shared this widely with a “Totally appropriate language” warning.
