The White House announced yesterday that:
The American people elected Donald J. Trump to be President of the United States and gave him a mandate to increase the impact of every federal taxpayer dollar. In Fiscal Year 2024, ofthe nearly $ 10 trillion that the Federal Government spent, more than $3 trillion was Federal financial assistance, such as grants and loans. Career and political appointees in the Executive Branch have a duty to align Federal spending and action with the will of the American people as expressed through Presidential priorities. Financial assistance should be dedicated to advancing Administration priorities, focusing taxpayer dollars to advance a stronger and safer America, eliminating the financial burden of inflation for citizens, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, ending “ wokeness” and the weaponization of government, promoting efficiency in government, and Making America Healthy Again. The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve.
I added the emphasis.
I am not sure what Marxist equity is meant to be, but I do know what equity is, and I support it.
I don't like those who pick on people to abuse them. We all know that is the action of the bully.
And I co-authored the Green New Deal, which is not about social engineering but is most definitely about saving the planet for generations to come - which may be what Trump means by that term, and is precisely what he does not want.
What I do know is that as a result of this prejudice from Trump, Medicaid for twenty per cent of all Americans was halted yesterday as a result of the supposedly temporary suspension of $3 trillion of grant and loan packages from the Federal Government for at least a fortnight. The whole aim is, apparently, to support Trump's plan to end programmes related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The desire to discriminate is, in other words, what this is all about.
A judge has already temporarily blocked this ban. Twenty-two states and the District of Columbia (a Democrat stronghold) have taken action against it, and this is likely to impede Trump's plan, but the madness of the right-wing think tankers who wrote this is clear: they want to destroy effective government by undermining the supply of government services in the US irrespective of the consequences for the people of the country. Mayhem is their goal, and they are intent on delivering it. That, to me, is what evil conduct looks like.

Nothing like getting The Military on side…….

Yet more bullying
Unless Trump intends to either imprison or murder those military he is dishonouring, he may be committing a cardinal error. They have considerable loyalties from their former staff and veterans.
will we hear about ‘creative destruction’ as a justification? I can’t wait! (sighs)
As usual on these issues, Rachel Maddow’s report is absolutely compulsory viewing, Richard, not least to hear about the push back, which is not really being covered. Two clips. The Second with Tim Walz is also worth watching.

I will watch with my lunch
Given the number of people in the US who could potentially be discriminated against the consequences might be interesting to say the least.
When the nursing home calls Billy-Bob Smith Jr. and tells him that he needs to come pick up Mama and taker her to his house because the funding for subsidizing his mother’s nursing care has been eliminated due to the cuts in the Medicaid grants to states.
80% of the funds available to states due to the “Medicaid Expansion” part of the Affordable Care Act went to indigent Senior Citizens’ healthcare.
Reality is going to hit a lot of people very soon.
Including very large numbers who will be unemployed.
