Trump wants to sack 7 out of every 8 US Federal Government employees

Posted on

According to the US Congressional Budget Office:

The federal government employs about 2¼ million military personnel (of whom about 1 million are reservists) and about 2¼ million civilian personnel (of whom nearly 60 percent work for the Departments of Defense, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security).

Today, the New York Times has reported in an email:

The Trump administration has offered roughly two million government employees the option to resign by Feb. 6 and keep being paid until Sept. 30, a move that could significantly reduce the federal work force.

In other words, Trump is seeking to sack around seven out of every eight Federal employees and somehow thinks that US government departments will continue to function despite doing so.

I keep saying that Trump's only agenda is to destroy government as it has been known, and increasingly, that seems to be absolutely right.

I know Musk did something like this at Twitter. But look what happened. This route is the path to mayhem, disorder and complete chaos.
