230,000

Posted on

This took a long time to arrive:

I reached 220,000 followers last December, having been accumulating 10,000 or more new followers a month for most of 2022.

Three things delayed progress. One was Elon Musk making Twitter much less user friendly, which it undoubtedly is now. He has done his best to destroy its value.

The second was quite a lot of Labour supporters unfollowing me, not liking my approach to their party.

Third, I have invested less time in Twitter, doing many fewer Twitter threads of late. The blog and its traffic has benefited. Last week was the fourth biggest weekly traffic in this blog's sixteen year history.

But it remains an important outlet and I will keep using it.
