It was blowing straight from the North Pole this afternoon, but the blossom was out:
And it was beautiful, even with the grey skies:
That's the Rive Cam, just south of Ely.
We don't have many hills around here, but we do big skies.
And I saw my first swallows and house martins of the year.

Beautiful Richard. The blossom photo gave me the idea of sharing this verse from a poem I wrote a few years ago. The poem is a eulogy to one of my favourite mountains
When I came
She wore flowers in her hair
Such sweetness I never knew
Filled up a well of joyful tears
Each one soaked into the ground
And mingled with the blessed spring
Which waters the mountain gentian
It was a stunning work
Good birding too
But I am nit a twitcher – a good view of the ordinary does well for me
But two firsts for the year, a flock of Ling tail tits, two Egyptian geese, what must be the last wigeon and pochard, and great white egret were all good
I like poem
I wish I could write poetry. I try and never like the result
Bloody hell.
This Murphy bloke is a good photographer AS WELL as everything else!!
I give up.
No, he was snapping with his phone….
But once upon a time I took it fairly seriously – even did my own developing (those were the days) so I still remember a bit on composition of a photo and the like
Now I just enjoy it when I see something I like
