Before anyone points this out, I am aware that 2020 is not over as yet. However, at some point yesterday the total number of reads of this blog during the course of the year to date exceeded 2,512,000. As a result, 2020 will now be the year in which this blog has its highest ever number of reads, because that was the previous record, set in 2017.
As I am all too well aware, numbers do not necessarily prove anything, but they can on occasion be useful indicators, and I admit that I am pleased about this.

PS How do you know that I have read the items sent to my email; if you don’t then your figure may be underestimating.
Those reads are not in the total – so yes, the figures are understated
