Yes, it’s certainly dangerous to put to sea in an unsafe boat but, as you say, it isn’t criminal. Above all it’s a sign of the upheaval and consequent desperation endured by the people who do so. Nobody would leave a stable home to take a chance on finding asylum in an unfriendly world. Johnson is as lacking in empathy as Trump.
