It’s not a bad brief summary and a useful introduction to anyone who’s not yet heard about the GND. Unfortunately the complexity of the topic doesn’t really lend itself to a 6 minute précis, posing more questions than answers. It would be more useful as an ‘introduction’ to a series of additional videos dealing with each major component. But I’m being a touch churlish … it’s only a item of journalism and certainly better than nothing. Hopefully it will be viewed by some who are eager to find out more. Maybe The Guardian will produce a series of follow-ups. If they do we must hope and pray they get the macro right when it comes to ‘how can it be financed?’
