So many quips and jokes can be made of this that I suspect you’ll be inundated all day, Richard. Personally, when I read the story it brought a smile to my face for the first time in a few days. But given Mandelson’s ego is possibly even bigger than that of Trump I dare say he couldn’t resist being associated with a project where we can be pretty sure – given technological advances – that this version of the ship will not sink on its maiden voyage.
At least he will be able to re-arrange the deckchairs while he sails towards one of these newly constructed uncharted Chinese islands.
