What we know already is that a significant number of Scottish people have a dream: where statehood, social justice and cultural self-confidence fit together into a clear and popular project.
My hope would be that this is not just a Scottish dream, but so far it has not crossed the border into England.
I wish it would, for this is not about crude nationalism. That oppresses in the end. This is about empowerment, and that's the exact opposite and precisely what we need.

Too true Richard -what saddens me, is how a significant number of the English seemed to have become such lackey’s to the prevailing culture, dominated by lethargy, somnolence, compassion fatigue and in the end , utter narcolepsy – this was not the case 35-40 years ago.
If the Scots go indie – so be it. Chop ’em. They’ll have made their decision…mind you I’m sure how ‘indie’ Scotland will be if they want to stay in a currency union and the BoE makes the decisions for the rUK (and must not care about the Jocks).
