Having done so there is only one reasonable response, to the IMF's demand for stimulus and Osborne's refusal to do it.
And that's "I (and others) told you so".
Long ago. And we're all paying the price for that being ignored.

The significance is not to be found in the message itself but instead in his continuing to ignore it together with all other advice against austerity. I’ve said here before, Osborne and Cameron are creatures of privilege only, without it we’d never have herd their names. Their mission, understandably if you think about it, is to reinforce and underline that privilege, and this is what they’re doing. Expect more of the same.
Pleased to see the IMF advocating LVT to cure the housing crisis.

Someone alerted me to this and I found this on Independent website: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/time-for-plan-b-imf-tells-george-osborne-to-ease-pace-of-spending-cuts-8627109.html. The FT did not mention this aspect, which find strange – except when you read the editorial which is ridiculously positive on behalf of Osborne, as per usual. Fortunately the op eds are generally far more scathing nowadays.
