The ConDem fantasy

Posted on

The ConDem fantasy is staggering. The Mail reports:

A quarter of incapacity benefit claimants will be forced to return to work immediately as part of the Government’s onslaught against scroungers.

A crackdown expects to find around 23 per cent of claimants — 500,000 in all — are fit to work, Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith said.

Right now there are 467,000 vacancies nationally, and there are already 2,500,000 unemployed people chasing them.

What sort of dream world do these people live in?

Don’t they realise it is the job of government to create employment when the private sector can’t, won’t or both? All other priorities fall apart unless they do.
