FT.com / In depth - Osborne denies Tory plans would spark unrest.

An incoming Conservative government would have the mandate to carry out deep public spending cuts, according to George Osborne, shadow chancellor, who rejected suggestions that his plans could spark Greek-style social unrest.

The words "cloud cuckoo land" come to mind.

And I would remind him that wiser people than he think otherwise.
