Someone had a confession to make

Priest stumps up €433,475 to Irish taxman - Accountancy Age.

A Cork priest has made a €433,475 settlement to the Irish taxman.

Fr Tadhg O’Donovan paid the windfall amount in relation to under-declaration of income tax and capital gains tax on his extensive property interests, the Irish Examiner reported

The settlement with the Revenue Commissioners consisted of €187,447 in unpaid taxes and €246,029 in penalties and interest after a Revenue audit.

That should have made for an interesting confession. I notice no mention of how many Hail Mary's got thrown in to help things along.
