I noted today that an article in the Telegraph on the Isle of Man and information exchange had mysteriously disappeared from the web.
But now it's back again I'm pleased to say.
I gather that it was thought that the article had been published before the Isle of Man had been given enough time to comment.
The revised version now concludes:
The Isle of Man government was not available for comment at the time of publication of this article.
So that sets the mater straight!

If the Daily Telegraph (and every other newspaper) felt obliged to allow governments “time to comment” before publishing an article then the flow of information could become restricted and perhaps the freedom-of-speech compromised.
Enough time to comment? How long does the Isle of Man government need?
It’s not a case of trying to restrict information flow, they just hadn’t had enough time to comment on the matter; before publication. Quite a simple matter really.
On matters involving important issues which may influence the island’s very future most observers would suppose that “they” (whoever they are) would find the time to make appropriate comment.
It’s called proactive management and all quick-witted organisations (and governments) anticipate important eventualities by establishing smart PR departments meticulously prepared to issue timely and intelligent comment.
Why the PSG should offer the Isle of Man government this advice is err …. surprising.
