These are my links for September 29th:
- Marc Ambinder (September 29, 2008) - McCain's Share of The Blame? - If ever a man proved himself not up to the task it's John McCain
- BBC NEWS | Politics | Tories pledge council tax freeze - So that's real cuts in social services then, social housing, refuse collection and care for the elderly: real stuff for real people on real streets where people vote.
Another politician seeking to shoot himself in the foot.
- BBC NEWS | The Reporters | Robert Peston - It's a fair litany of cost for a day
And I remain worried that we're not at the end yet
Although with Wachovia and Fortis under new management I'm a little more relaxed
But there will be more fall out in Iceland as yet
- FT.com / Companies / Financial services - Fortis thrown €11bn lifeline by governments - This one had seriously worried me: it does even now as these governments really don't have the muscle to manage the risk that Fortis poses. It only takes one of this size to fall and the domino effect will be unstoppable
It's why this model of capitalism has to go
