I was sent a promotion by Abebooks yesterday suggesting I might like to buy a copy of 'Money for Nothing and My Tweets for Free', which I wrote and published in 2022.

This is really not necessary.
First, the book, most of which remains as relevant as when I wrote it, although I would rewrite the inflation section now, can be downloaded free here.
And if you want a hard copy it is available from Amazon, priced so I basically make no profit, at £4.95.

You provide a perfect reminder to the trolls,frothing at the mouth waiting to spin outrage about nothing, that you are actually prepared to provide something for nothing; a free lunch unlike the neoliberals, who do not even produce sewage, without scamming a profit. I believe Abe Books is owned by Amazon, so no doubt you can thank an algorithm for this.
While I appreciate the sentiment some who, including dyslexic like me, still appreciate a physical book, are trying to avoid Amazon. I find the further enrichment of Jeff Bazos, who exploits so many zero hours contract employees in his warehouses, way too nauseating. Despite the concern that the sheer weight of my book collection might one day collapse my flat into the ground floor, I do buy from AbeBooks. I like the process of hoovering up those used books rather than seeing them go to landfill. Other used book suppliers get my patronage too, including AwesomeBooks and WOB World of Books, for the same reason. I rarely buy any new books anymore.
I am a quite regular buyer of second hand books, too. In some of my areas of interest it is where most materials are to be found.
Me too. I confess Amazon are a good entry point to second hand suppliers. The suppliers need the Amazon access

Although with may favoured suppliers I am known to fund a book on Abe and then go direct to them….
AbeBooks has been a subsidiary of Amazon since 2008.
Just in case anyone here thought it was a benign second hand book seller.
