Under the Child Poverty Act 2010 the Government are required to publish such a strategy by tomorrow, yet in a written answer from the <a class=\"glossary\" style=\"color: #2680c6; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-color: #808080;\" title=\"Ministers make up the Government and almost all are members of the House of...\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theyworkforyou.com\/glossary\/?gl=35\">Minister<\/a> with responsibility for disabled people earlier this week, I was informed that she has not yet even seen fit to appoint the commission that is intended to advise on such a strategy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The reply?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"speaker conservative\" style=\"font-size: 1em; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0.7em; padding-left: 0px; line-height: 1.3em; text-align: left; letter-spacing: 0px; margin: 0px;\"><a style=\"color: #2680c6; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold;\" title=\"See more information about George Young\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theyworkforyou.com\/mp\/?m=40452\"><strong>George Young<\/strong><\/a> <small style=\"font-size: 0.85em;\">(Leader of the House of Commons, House of Commons; North West Hampshire, Conservative<\/small><\/p>\n<p class=\"speaker conservative\" style=\"font-size: 1em; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0.7em; padding-left: 0px; line-height: 1.3em; text-align: left; letter-spacing: 0px; margin: 0px;\"><small style=\"font-size: 0.85em;\"><\/small><span style=\"line-height: 18px;\">The hon. Lady has made a valid point, which has been addressed in a written ministerial statement. I know that my right hon. Friend the <a class=\"glossary\" style=\"color: #2680c6; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-color: #808080;\" title=\"Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who...\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theyworkforyou.com\/glossary\/?gl=23\">Secretary of State<\/a> for Work and Pensions will want to regularise the position as soon as he can, and I will ensure that he informs the House in the near future of how he proposes to do that.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Or in other words - the government does not care about child poverty.<\/p>\n<p>Their actions tell of their sentiment.<\/p>\n<p>And it's a shocking indictment of their priorities: cutting corporation tax for companies using tax havens matters.
