Today, Iran launched attack drones at Bahrain \u2014 which hosts the U.S. Navy\u2019s Fifth Fleet headquarters,\u00a0a major logistical base for U.S. military operations. Iran also struck\u00a0an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, its second attack on a ship since Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Those attacks came after the United States carried out overnight airstrikes on Iranian missile and drone sites, in retaliation for Iran\u2019s firing drones at a container ship on Thursday as it passed through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And as he has asked:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Yet the mainstream media refuse to call him out on his Iran lies.<\/p>\n<p><em>The<\/em>\u00a0<em>New York Times\u00a0<\/em>terms\u00a0what\u2019s now happening a \u201cflare-up of hostilities\u201d that threatens \u201cto unravel\u201d ongoing \u201ctalks to reach a final peace agreement,\u201d and that \u201cneither side seems eager to return to a full-blown war.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, they may not want to return to a \u201cfull-blown war,\u201d but they\u2019ve returned to hostilities that are blocking the strait and destroying whatever shred of trust diplomacy depends on. And not a word about Trump\u2019s lies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He is spot on.<\/p>\n<p>There is no ceasefire.<\/p>\n<p>There is an ongoing war between the USA and Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The Strait of Hormuz is effectively shut.<\/p>\n<p>The world economic consequences continue.<\/p>\n<p>But markets pretend that is not the case.<\/p>\n<p>And why? Because the West's media is too frightened to call out Trump's lies.<\/p>\n<p>I still believe we are going to pay a horribly high price for this.<\/p>\n<p>And I wish that was not the case.<\/p>\n<p>The question is, why do the media force us to believe they are on the wrong side of the truth?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Robert Reich has noted on his Substack overnight: Trump\u2019s war with Iran is continuing.
