{"id":92465,"date":"2026-05-21T08:28:40","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T07:28:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=92465"},"modified":"2026-05-21T08:28:40","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T07:28:40","slug":"nicky-campbell-9-05-this-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2026\/05\/21\/nicky-campbell-9-05-this-morning\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicky Campbell: 9.05 this morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">I should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2026\/05\/21\/youtube-creation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not have mentioned this morning<\/a> that I have a very busy writing schedule because, just now, the producer for Nicky Campbell\u2019s programme on Radio 5 Live called, asking if I would go on the programme at 9 o\u2019clock this morning to discuss Rachel Reeves\u2019 proposed price controls, and the planning that we should be doing for a potential inflation hike as a consequence of the war in Iran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I have, of course, agreed to go on the programme between about 9:05 and 9:20. I will not keep to the script that they suggested and have already proposed to them that I want to talk about the much larger crisis coming our way, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2026\/05\/21\/are-we-ready-for-the-crash-coming-our-way\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as outlined in this morning\u2019s video<\/a>, and the fact that unless the government treats people fairly in the crisis we are heading for there will be major social disruption as a consequence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We might be facing a situation worse than Covid, and the government seems entirely unaware of it.
