{"id":90700,"date":"2026-03-08T08:08:51","date_gmt":"2026-03-08T08:08:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/?p=90700"},"modified":"2026-03-08T08:10:53","modified_gmt":"2026-03-08T08:10:53","slug":"90700","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taxresearch.org.uk\/Blog\/2026\/03\/08\/90700\/","title":{"rendered":"An article as rare as hen&#8217;s teeth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thoughtful articles from Labour MPs are about as rare as hen's teeth.<\/p>\n<p>Clive Lewis MP is admittedly not a standard Labour MP, having shown himself to be willing on numerous occasions to criticise the party's leadership and direction of travel, and he has been particularly vocal in this regard of late.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2026\/mar\/08\/foundation-lives-crisis-debate-byelection-politics?CMP=GTUK_email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he has written an article for the Guardian<\/a>. It is well worth reading because of the sympathy it shows for many of the causes discussed here and that seem relevant to the leadership of this blog.<\/p>\n<p>I should acknowledge that Clive and I were, for a number of years, both members of the now-defunct Green New Deal Group, because of those interests that we had in common.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thoughtful articles from Labour MPs are about as rare as hen&#8217;s teeth.
